What Age Can Kids Start Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

One of the most common questions we hear from parents is "is my child old enough?" At Impulse BJJ, children can start from age 4.

Ages 4 to 5: Tots

At this age the focus is on movement, balance, coordination and listening, taught through games built around BJJ. More about Tots.

Ages 6 to 8: Kids 1

Children learn fundamental positions, escapes and takedowns, with plenty of games to keep them engaged. More about Kids 1.
